How Come so many Newbies to Internet Marketing get just so far, and then Stop?

It struck me this morning; if it’s true that Internet Marketing offers the potential for so many to become free of the bonds of their daily work, then why is it that SO MANY newbie Internet Marketers just get so far, then stop?

There must be something, or things, missing from the majority of newbies’ start-up attempts.  Here are some of the important points:

Ambition
We need to have ambition to make a success of whatever it is we hope to do in life. 

I don’t mean that little spurt of initial enthusiasm.  The biggest contributing factor for business success on the Internet is having true ambition and desire to get the job done, and to possess the more deep-seated drive to persevere through the numerous challenges you will encounter along the way.

A Plan of Action
Any business venture requires a plan, or strategy as to how you are going to achieve your goal. You need business strategy to help you develop your own efforts in a co-ordinated fashion.  Without one you are literally chasing your tail, and would be destined to go down the fastest route to giving up.

Setting out your Goals
This is a key component for any successful business. How are you going to succeed when you do not know what it is you are striving for? Goal planning involves setting realistic and achievable objectives that are essentially stepping stones that will move you closer to the desired results you seek.

If you do not take the time to do this you will be like a ship without a rudder, and once again will become frustrated and quit. 

Fear of Failure – or of Success
Strangely enough many people are so afraid of failure they will hold back from trying anything new.  I’ve quoted Stuart Goldsmith’s work before: most of us “live under a ‘ceiling’ of three feet” – we are too afraid to even stand up!

Then there are those who very nearly achieve success, only to back down at the crucial moment for some unknown reason.  This is their fear of success.  How strange is the human mind.

There is no doubt that the Internet does provide an amazing springboard for those who are willing to get out there, learn something new, and TAKE ACTION!  It’s there for the taking, for those who have the guts to get ahead.
